The Root Cause

We use a special tooth-coloured resin to reshape and improve the appearance of You have living cells, connective tissue, and nerve endings inside every one of your teeth. This is known as “dental pulp”. It’s found in the “pulp chamber” and in the root canals, which channel deep into your jawbone.
If your tooth is damaged due to injury or decay, bacteria may get inside and infect the pulp. Soon, inflammation occurs. This is your body’s natural response in the fight against infection. As inflamed tissue presses against the nerve endings, you’ll experience considerable dental pain.

The Root Canal Treatment
Before removing the infection, we need to assess your tooth. X-rays help us get a clearer view of what’s happening beneath your tooth’s surface.
We’ll provide an anaesthetic so you feel comfortable throughout. Once ready, we’ll remove all the infected matter and sanitise the tooth. A latex-like material called gutta percha is then used to fill the inside of the tooth, and the outer surface is repaired with a filling.
We can add a dental crown at a later date. This protects the tooth from future infections.
